SalesConnect makes it easy to track connectionsClosedConnections are entities; they're the different types of companies and individuals you may need to track. SalesConnect is set up to display information about the types of connections you care about, based on the roles to which you are assigned., sales, and other data critical to the asset management business.

Dashboard at a Glance

Your dashboardClosedThe dashboard is the first page you see when you log into SalesConnect. It provides an overview of summary information related to trades and assets. is what you see first when you log in.

  1. The Sales section shows sales summary numbers for critical time periods, based on the last date on which data was summarized.
  2. The Redemptions section shows redemptions summary numbers for critical time periods, based on the last date on which data was summarized.
  3. The Assets Under Management section shows current assets based on the As Of Date. You can select the link for a breakdown by fund.
  4. The YTD Sales By Product Type section shows YTD sales for each product type based on the last date on which data was summarized.
  5. The main part of the page shows current and historical summary data, for Sales & Redemptions or for Assets, based on the option selected in the dropdown. Data in the table is for the current and last two years. All displayed information is read-only, though you may be able to select links to display a new pages showing a detailed breakdown.

Navigation at a Glance

Here's a quick overview of navigation in SalesConnect. This is the universal menu, which appears at the top of every page.

  1. Welcome menuSelect the logo to return to your dashboard. See Dashboard at a Glance for more about this page.
  2. Use the Welcome menu to access key features:

    1. Display one of your SalesConnect bookmarks: Select the Welcome menu at the top right, select Bookmarks, and then select the bookmark you want. See Use bookmarks for more information.

    2. Change the active personaClosedA persona is an interface set of menus and dashboard or home view that was designed for a single set of operators who share goals, skills, attitude and behavior patterns. Each persona's interface displays only the content and tools that are relevant for that group.: In the Welcome menu at the top right, select Personas, and then select the persona with the tools you want to use.
    3. Display your alert history: In the Welcome menu at the top right, select Alert History. The Alert History page shows your alerts; select an alert link for more details.
    4. Display the Operation Queue, a list of your recently requested operations. See Check the Operation Queue for more information.
    5. Set your preferences: In the Welcome menu at the top right, select Preferences, set the options you would like, and select Save. You may be able to choose a default persona, set your time zone, set options for reusing tabs (or windows) showing SalesConnect pages, and set whether you want the Aggregate Partnership Sales field on Sales Summary and Profile tabs for repsClosedA rep is perhaps the most important contact connection in the intermediary business hierarchy. Each rep is an individual who sells funds and is affiliated with an office (and through the office, with a broker/dealer firm). Reps may also be referred to as "financial advisors." Possibly the most critical information you can track for reps are aliases, also known as trading IDs. Aliases are the IDs that associate transactions and assets with each rep. If you need to write queries or reports: The primary data for reps is stored in the Contact and Rep Profile tables. The Rep Alias table stores trading IDs associated with reps. to default to checked or not. Show Clearing Firm Console Properties lets you choose whether your firmClosedA broker/dealer firm (or broker dealer or broker-dealer) is a connection associated with intermediary business, typically a top-level organization in this hierarchy. Broker/dealer firms are also sometimes referred to as just "firms" or "brokers" or "dealers" or "financial institutions." Each broker/dealer firm may have one or more offices affiliated with it, and through these offices, reps may also be affiliated with it. A broker/dealer firm may have associated firm contacts, as well. Possibly the most critical information you can track for broker/dealer firms are aliases, also known as trading IDs. Aliases are the IDs that associate transactions with each broker/dealer firm. If you need to write queries or reports: The primary data for broker/dealer firms is stored in the Firm table. The Firm Alias table stores trading IDs associated with broker/dealer firms. search results should include columns for clearing firm summary data by default. (Such data is shown only when it's available for individual firms.)
    6. Log out of SalesConnect: In the Welcome menu at the top right, select Log Off.
  3. Select the Help button to display this Help. (You've got this one figured out...)

  4. The Site Map button provides access to navigation that's different than the persona-based menus: Select in the universal menu at the top right. On the Site Map page, links to pages are grouped by module; you can use Filter to limit listed pages. Security rulesClosedSecurity rules are used to control access to specific tools, controls, pages and other features in SalesConnect. Each security rule includes roles and/or operators who will have access to the items secured by that rule. may affect the pages you see. You can select a link to display that page.

  5. The Bookmark This Page button appears only when the current page isn't yet bookmarked: Select in the universal menu at the top of the page. You can change the suggested bookmark name in the displayed popup, and then select Save.If a page is already bookmarked, the Remove Bookmark button is shown instead: In the universal menu at the top of a bookmarked page, select . Select Delete on the popup.You can also use the Remove Bookmark button to change the name of a bookmark: : At the top of a bookmarked page, select . Change the name on the popup, and then select Save.

  6. The History button lets you access connections and other important data you've recently viewed: Select at the top of the page, select the type of record you want, and then select the specific record you want to see.

You'll also see menus for the active persona; each set of menus provides access to key tools for that persona. By default, when you are working with the Data Operations persona, you'll have access to menus like these, though security rules may limit the menu options to which you have access.

Offices are also sometimes referred to as "branches'; institutional firms have branches in SalesConnect. An office is affiliated with a single broker/dealer firm, and may have one or more reps directly affiliated with it. An office may have associated office contacts, as well. So, reps, firm contacts, and office contacts—are all contacts. Partnerships and teams are also treated as contacts in SalesConnect, because you usually need to work with them in the same ways. are added from tabs on the detail pages of the higher-level connections with which they are associated.)

     

  2. The Data Management menu provides access to tools for performing a variety of tasks related to managing your SalesConnect data.

These are just the default Data Operations menus; other personas have different menus. You can always search Help for more information about how to use tools in SalesConnect.
